L'omo-lesbo-transfobia e i crimini d'odio perpetrati sull'orientamento sessuale e sull'identità di genere non si fermano. Non siamo di fronte a un fenomeno passeggero o a episodi isolati, ma a una vera e propria cultura sistemica e radicata. L'odio è una realtà concreta, non un'opinione, e i numeri parlano chiaro: arrivati al 2026, le statistiche globali continuano a contare tragicamente centinaia di omicidi l'anno, mentre in Italia i bollettini delle associazioni sul territorio registrano ancora migliaia di episodi di violenza, discriminazione e richieste d'aiuto.
Di fronte a questa emergenza continua, un impegno fotografico legato alla visibilità civile e sociale è tanto urgente quanto doveroso.
I am: Manifest of Pride non è soltanto una raccolta di scatti; è un archivio vivente di resistenza, gioia e autodeterminazione. Questo reportage nasce dal desiderio di documentare il battito incessante della comunità LGBTQIA+ attraverso le piazze, le marce e i momenti di attivismo quotidiano che, passo dopo passo, cercano di smantellare questa cultura d'odio e di ridefinire il panorama dei diritti civili nel nostro Paese.
Attraverso l’obiettivo, ho cercato di catturare l'energia cruda dei Pride e la dedizione silenziosa delle attività di advocacy, andando oltre la superficie dell'evento celebrativo. Ogni immagine vuole essere una testimonianza di identità autentiche, un mosaico di volti e storie che rivendicano con fierezza il diritto di esistere, di amare e di essere riconosciuti.
Questo progetto è un invito all'ascolto e alla riflessione: un manifesto visivo che celebra le conquiste raggiunte, ma che non smette di puntare l'attenzione su ciò che ancora manca per una reale e completa uguaglianza. È il mio contributo alla memoria collettiva di un movimento che continua a tracciare la strada verso una società più inclusiva, consapevole e libera da ogni pregiudizio. Perché oggi, esistere ed essere visibili, è la forma più alta di resistenza.

Homo-lesbo-transphobia and hate crimes perpetrated against sexual orientation and gender identity do not stop. We are not facing a passing phenomenon or isolated incidents, but a true, deeply rooted systemic culture. Hate is a concrete reality, not an opinion, and the numbers speak for themselves: as we reach 2026, global statistics tragically continue to count hundreds of murders a year, while in Italy, local associations still record thousands of episodes of violence, discrimination, and cries for help.
Faced with this ongoing emergency, a photographic commitment tied to civil and social visibility is both an urgent necessity and a moral duty.
I am: Manifest of Pride is not just a collection of shots; it is a living archive of resistance, joy, and self-determination. This reportage stems from the desire to document the relentless heartbeat of the LGBTQIA+ community through the squares, marches, and moments of everyday activism that, step by step, seek to dismantle this culture of hate and redefine the civil rights landscape in our country.
Through the lens, I have tried to capture the raw energy of Pride and the silent dedication of advocacy work, going beyond the surface of the celebratory event. Every image aims to be a testimony of authentic identities, a mosaic of faces and stories that proudly reclaim the right to exist, to love, and to be recognized.
This project is an invitation to listen and reflect: a visual manifesto that celebrates the achievements made, yet never ceases to draw attention to what is still missing for true and complete equality. It is my contribution to the collective memory of a movement that continues to pave the way toward a more inclusive, aware, and prejudice-free society. Because today, existing and being visible is the highest form of resistance.
